The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2025 is a government initiative launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in the academic year 2006–07. The nature of service in the CPFs is extremely challenging. Personnel often stay away from their families for long periods, which sometimes affects the education of their children. To reduce this burden, the Prime Minister of India announced 5,000 scholarships for the wards of ex-servicemen and widows from the Army, Para-Military Forces, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Out of these, 1,000 scholarships were reserved for MHA and Railways, where 910 scholarships are allocated for CPFs under MHA and 90 for RPF under the Ministry of Railways.

Academic Requirements:
Minimum 60% marks at Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent for first-time applicants.
For renewal, students must secure at least 50% marks in each academic year.
Application Process (Offline)
Applications must be submitted by 30th November each year.
Candidates should send applications to their concerned Force Headquarters using the prescribed form (Annexure).
After verification, Force HQ forwards eligible applications to the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB), CPFs, CGO Complex, New Delhi, by 15th December.
WARB prepares the final list of selected candidates and sends it to the Ministry of Home Affairs by 31st December.
Selected candidates are informed directly by WARB.
Important Rules:
Applications sent directly to WARB or MHA are not accepted.
Late or incomplete applications are rejected.
Applicants must provide two stamped self-addressed envelopes (27×12 cm) with their forms.
Any false information can lead to cancellation of the scholarship and refund of the amount already received.
